How to create a signature banner

Within six days our team has set-up this brand-new section FASHION, BEAUTY, NEWSLETTERS – from the first idea to the finished signature banner and all the necessary paperwork! After the first enthusiasm it was up to the webmaster to set-up everything for us to go online. The present look is the start – some kind of makeshift. But we wanted to start quickly and therefore we are not bothered by a building site.

It was an inspiring and intense period in which we tied-up a lot of loose ends, spent hours to establish price calculations and all sorts of necessary papers, and outlined our ideas about the editorial aspects of this new section.

Our very first creative task was the photo-shoot of our signature banner. We have arranged and rearranged accessories and fabrics for more than an hour in order to get the best possible shot. But once we had made all our pictures, the more demanding and tiring work of selecting the good ones started. Daniela, our very skilled photographer, did check far more than one hundred shots and picked about a dozen top pictures for the next step.

Despite the quality of the shots, this kind of photos has to be edited to get the best out of it. Not in a million years somebody would seriously consider to publish a shot of the most beautiful model without editing the picture first. The reality is certainly not a priority in fashion photography!

If you start to work on a dozen great pictures and vary light, colours, angles and cut-outs – you certainly end up again with more than one hundred pictures…

So, once more, we had to go through all these options and select our very first signature banner picture. Luckily, we both decide quickly and have almost the same taste and style ideas. Eventually, we picked the black-pinkish version of a great cut-out shot. Unfortunately, we had to leave the upright shots due to the dimension of the banner. However, we will use some of the best pictures for future articles.

Our signature banner is not yet online because our category is still “work in progress” but we are working relentlessly on this and hope to be ready very soon!

We are very much looking forward to giving our readers an entertaining insight into the world of fashion and beauty in the way we perceive this very special and lively emporium.
