MIU MIU, the second line of Miucca Prada, turns back the time to the ‘40s. She picked the glamour of the Hollywood movie icons and transferred it into beautiful and elegant dresses with cute collars and very broad shoulders.
Looking at MIU MIU’s looks, I immediately think of the iconic Rita Hayworth – the top movie-star of the 1940s (I never forget COVER GIRL and GILDA!). The hemlines are shorter and the cut of the shoulders might be a bit bolder – the whole look is adapted to our century, with great cuts and beautiful and carefully chosen highlights.

The colour range is very limited – basically black, some prints on black, and a few accent colours like mustard, red and blue.
Most of her looks are really wearable but if you dress in Miu Miu from top to toe, just everybody recognizes the brand. For some fashionistas great – for others more of a nightmare!
If you love the look of the ‘40s, then go for one of her beautiful dresses. If you want to wear it for more than one season – choose a monochrome piece. The prints are cute but tend to lose the appeal if you’ve worn them a few times!
