Festival of Sant’Anna Fireworks Tonight in Sorrento

One of the most beautiful and heartfelt festivals of the Sorrento Peninsula returns after the pandemic. Locals in Sorrento celebrate the Sant’Anna festival, showing off the town’s identity and creativity of the community at the Marina Grande. The historic fishing village considers Saint Anna, who was the mother of the Virgin Mary and the maternal grandmother of Jesus, its patron saint. The patroness of pregnancy, women in labor and motherhood even has a church named in her honor di lei. The Chiesa di Sant’Anna holds holy masses beginning at 6 am, and celebrations will be accompanied by fireworks. Today marks Saints Anna and Joachim’s feast day, and they are also considered the patron saints of grandparents. The marina is filled with local business stands. The grand scale celebration is all day long which recognizes the synthesis of local culture and the strength of the town.
